This volume presents the outcomes of the FRED2 project (Fraud Repression through Education), a European Union-funded initiative aimed at strengthening the prevention and detection of fraud in the management of EU funds.
Developed at the ImpreSapiens Research Centre at Sapienza University in Rome in collaboration with the Guardia di Finanza unit responsible for protecting European financial interests within the Department for European Affairs at the Presidency of the Council of Ministers, the project fostered a positive collaboration between academia and anti-fraud units operating across Europe. The core contributions of FRED2, detailed in this publication, encompass coproduction in capacity building, AI applications in fraud detection, EU fraud risk profile analysis, and the development of a pilot decision-support system.
